My first ATC - How about a hug?

Hello, friends :-)  Well, I was again inspired by my dear friend, Avril, and I have created my first ATC - Yay!  These little cards are small - 2 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches.  What do you think?

I started with a tiny white base and covered it with starry-sky paper.  I stamped the night-time kitty on a punched tag, coloured with pencils, doodled stitching around the outline, stapled a piece of navy ribbon, and affixed to the ATC with foam tape.  I cut the sentiment into a label shape, touched it on my yellow stamp pad to add some colour, and affixed with a pop dot.  Lastly I embellished with four stars and a heart charm tied with twine.  Here are the supplies used:
  • Stamp:  Unfortunately, it has no markings on it - a wood-mounted stamp I got in a lot on ebay years ago.
  • Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
  • SentimentStampArt Design by Kathryne
  • Patterned paperFree Craft Downloads (thank you)
  • Coloured pencils:  Prismacolor
  • Black marker (for doodled stitching):  Staedtler

I Love You Kitties

I made another card for my honey!  The card I made yesterday really cheered him up so I thought I'd make another one.  I mentioned yesterday that he's been feeling down lately.  He does love my cards - he's my biggest fan - so I know this one will put a smile on his face when he gets home from work tonight.

This time I tried a technique called Stained Glass on Vellum that I saw at MFP Speedy TV - I'm not sure if I did it correctly but it's my best shot at it.  I stamped the kitties and heart on vellum, coloured with pencils, and affixed to polka-dot patterned paper that I mounted on black cardstock.  The heart stamps says "I Love" so I wrote "You!" with a fine black marker.  I then affixed that panel to a glittery brown polka-dot patterned paper that I mounted on black cardstock, which covered a white card base.  I embellished with two wooden polka-dot hearts and some heart-themed decorative tape.  Here are the supplies used:
Hero Arts - I Love My Cat
  • Stamps:  Cats (Crafter's Companion Tale of Tom Kitten set - see below), heart (Hero Arts CL135 I Love My Cat set - see below)
  • Ink:  StazOn Jet Black
  • Coloured pencils:  Prismacolor
  • Patterned paper, cardstock:  Black cardstock and both polka-dot papers are Recollections
  • White card base:  Domtar
  • Vellum:  Unknown/unmarked from my stash
  • Black marker:  Staedtler
  • Decorative tape:  Loblaws
  • Wooden hearts:  Dollarama

I made this birthday card for an elderly friend who is fond of ducks.  She loved it!

I started with a purple card base, onto which I stamped a birthday gift repeatedly to create a background on the top, affixed patterned paper on the bottom, and added a strip of black polka-dot ribbon.  I embossed the duck stamp in silver, coloured with watercolour markers, outlined in silver, mounted on yellow and then black cardstock, stamped the sentiment in black, and affixed to the card with foam tape.  Lastly I embellished with a handmade bow.  Here are the supplies used:
  • Stamps:  Duck (Penny Black 3212K Much Gifted!),sentiment (The Old Island Stamp Company), birthday gift (dollar store)
  • Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
  • Watercolour markers:  Tombow

Owl Always Love You

Today I made a masculine card - for my honey.  He's been feeling down lately, and I'm hoping this will lift his spirits.

I used a fabulous freebie digi and sentiment from Beccy's Place (thank you, Beccy), which I coloured with Prismacolor pencils and mounted on brown cardstock.  I started by covering a white card base with brown cardstock and then layering coordinating patterned-paper panels according to the sketch by C.R.A.F.T. Challenge (see below).  I affixed the image and sentiment with foam tape and embellished with a feather, four buttons tied with twine, and a feather charm tied with ribbon.

Hello, friends - I hope you are enjoying your weekend!  It's Sunday and that means it's challenge time over at Glitter n Sparkle Challenge Blog.  The theme this week is Transport.

By the way, we have changed the rules over at Glitter n Sparkle beginning with this challenge.  We now have a limit of 3 entries per person, and the top 3 will be chosen by the DT instead of random.org.  This makes things more fun!  I hope you will come over and play along with us.   Here's my card...

I love the image I got to play with this week - it's called Purrcedes by Floppy Latte - this little kitty is just so cute travelling around on her broom!  I printed the image, die cut, coloured with pencils, sponged the edges with black ink, and mounted on a black die cut.  I covered a white card base with black cardstock and affixed panels of patterned paper and embossed cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment in black on a die-cut oval and sponged with black ink.  Lastly I embellished with wooden skull and bat and glittery ghost and stars.  Here are the supplies used:

Yoda in the Forest by Jonas (8 yrs)

I enjoyed an afternoon of card making with my 8-year-old nephew, Jonas, and 4-year-old niece, Charlotte.  Over the next few days I would like to share some of their beautiful creations.  Here's one of Jonas's cards...

The Yoda digi is a freebie from Super Coloring (thank you), which Jonas cut out and coloured with Laurentian pencils.  He used brown construction paper and coloured pencils to create a woodland scene and embellished it with a sticker from the dollar store.

Butterfly Birthday

Here is a birthday card I made - I like how this turned out!

I started by brayering rainbow ink onto a glossy panel and then stamped a stem silhouette repeatedly.  I mounted the glossy panel on purple cardstock and affixed to the card (white card base covered with yellow cardstock).  I stamped the birthday sentiment in black and embellished with a metallic 3-D butterfly sticker and three green gems.  Here are the supplies used:
  • Stamp:  Stem Silhouettes (Stampin' Up!), sentiment (Studio G)
  • Ink:  Kaleidacolor Creole Spice, StazOn Jet Black
  • Cardstock:  Recollections    White Card Base:  Domtar
  • Accents:  Gems, butterfly sticker (dollar store)
